Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the process easy and electrical contact sure to fabricate a battery by inserting the bottom end of one electrode into a recess of a supporting frame, and holding a collector of another electrode between the supporting frame and a projection provided on a container. CONSTITUTION:A negative electrode 2 of layer of metal such as lithium is provided along the inside surface of a metal container 1 which also serves as a negative terminal. The negaive electrode 2 is molded with a collector 3 of expanded metal to form a combined body, and the collector 3 extends beyond the negative electrode 2. A positive electrode 5 of an oxide is fitted on a positive collecting rod 6, the bottom end of the collecting rod 6 is inserted in a recess 8 provided on a cylindrical supporting frame 7 of a synthetic resin. This is put in a negative electrode 1 spaced with separator 4, the exposed part of the collector 3 is held between the supporting frame 7 and the container 1 covering the frame 7, and the bottom side wall of the container 1 is deformed to shape a projection 9.
