Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a press molding with a high productivity by effectively utilizing the stoppage interval of a slide for cooling the moldings with alternate supply of material to upper and lower stages of dies employing die plates vertically movable.
CONSTITUTION: This press comprises an upper die plate 2 vertically movable provided on the side of a slide 1 through a fluid pressure cylinder 6, an intermediate die plate 3 vertically movable provided on the side of a bolster 5 through a fluid pressure cylinder 14 and dies 19, 20 and 21, 22 respectively provided on the upper and lower sides of the intermediate die plate, so that material is alternately supplied to the upper stage dies 19 and 20 and the lower stage dies 21 and 22. This permits effective utilization of stoppage interval of the slide for cooling the molding. In addition, the withdrawal of another molding, the cleaning of the dies and the supply of material can be done during the interval.
