Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of pitching at the cutting processing of a head core and to facilitate the manufacture of the head by improving a melting and casting method wherein the melting hot water of a sendust alloy is coagulated in a rotating magnetic field and crystal grains are fined. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic head core material is made by casting a magnetic alloy of Fe-Al-Si group having principal ingredients of Al 3-8% (wt% and so forth), Si 3-12% and the remaining part Fe. The melting hot water of the magnetic alloy of the Fe-Al-Si group is coagulated in a rotating magnetic field and crystal grains are fined to prevent the occurrence of pitching at the cutting processing of a head core. In manufacturing the head, the melting hot water 5 of a sendust alloy (An alloy of Fe-Al-Si group) is poured into a mold 1 and a magnetic field is applied by a rotating magnetic field generation device 2. The melting hot water of the sendust alloy is coagulated by a cooling device 3 to attempt the minuteness of the crystal grains and the occurrence of pitching at the cutting processing of the head core is prevented to facilitate the manufacture of the head.
