Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it possible to carry out electric resistance welding, by forming a stripe portion without a hydrated chromium oxide layer parallel or perpendicularly to a rolling direction of a low-carbon thin steel plate in producing a electrolytic chromic acid treated steel plate.
CONSTITUTION: When electrolytic chromic acid treatment is carried out on a low- carbon steel plate to form a surface coating comprising a metal chromium layer and a hydrated chromic acid layer thereon, a stripe portion comprising a hydrated chromium oxide layer of which a thickness is 4mg/m2 (as chromium) or less and near to 0 is formed parallel or perpendicularly to a rolling direction of a thin low-carbon steel plate substrate. For example, in providing the stripe portion parallel to a rolling direction, a stripe portion forming apparatus 11 is provided above a washing tank 10 in a final portion of an electrolytic chromium treating tank and a gell-like hydrated chromium oxide of a stripe portion is removed by a water injecting nozzle 11c to control the formation of a hydrated chromium oxide layer. Therefore, the electric resistance welding of a stripe portion becomes possible.
