Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R is H or CN; X is halogen; n is 0 or 1) and formula II.
EXAMPLE: 3-Anilinobenzyl [±-cis-trans] 3-(2,2-dichlorovinyl)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylate.
USE: An insecticide and miticide, and a synthetic intermediate therefor, stable to light, having low toxicity to warm-blooded animals. A compound having a halogen at the 4-position has especially a low toxicity to fish and is usable as an insecticide for rice plants.
PROCESS: A compound expressed by formula III or IV is used as a starting material, to prepare a compound of formula II, which is reacted with 3-(2,2-dichlorovinyl)- 2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylic acid or its reactive derivative, to give a compound of formula I.
