Abstract
PURPOSE: To color a thermoplastic resin clear greenish blue with good heat stability, by a method wherein a specified anthraquinone dye is used.
CONSTITUTION: About 0.00005W5wt%, pref. 0.01W1wt% of an anthraquinone dye of the formula (wherein X is H, halogen) is blended with a resin (e.g. a polystyrene, a polymethyl methacrylate, a polyethylene, etc.) to color the resin. The above dye is produced e.g. by reacting aniline with 1,5-dinitro-4,8-dihydroxyantraquinone.
