Abstract

PURPOSE: To utilize the space around a drum effectively and fit the recording paper onto the drum smoothly by a method wherein both a guide portion for guiding the recording paper when fitting the paper onto the drum and squeezing portion for bringing the paper into close contact with the drum are formed integrally with each other.
CONSTITUTION: When feeding the recording paper 9 by paper feeding rollers 2a, 2b, the paper pressing members 6 are separated from the drum 1 by arms (not shown) coupled with the both ends of a connecting member 7. The recording paper 9 guided along a lower paper guide plate 4 and along the guide portions 6a of the paper pressing members 6 is held by a paper holding pawl 10 provided on the drum 1. The paper pressing members 6 press the recording paper 9 by their squeezing portions 6b which have the same radius of curvature as the peripheral surface of the drum 1. Since the guide portion 6a and the smoothing-out portion 6b are integral with each other, the paper feeding rollers 2a, 2b and the paper pressing members 6 can be situated closely to each other, and the recording paper 9 can be fitted onto the drum 1 stably.
