Abstract

PURPOSE: A new injurious insect repellent composition, capable of exhibiting improved initial repellent effect for a very long time, particularly on a cockroach, and comprising an injurious insect repellent substance and a cellulose derivative.
CONSTITUTION: An injurious insect repellent composition comprising 1W100pts.wt. one or more types of injurious insect repellent substances, e.g. 2,3,4,5-bis(Δ2-butylene)-tetrahydrofurfural, di-n-propyl isocinchomeronate or di-n-butyl succinate, and 100pts.wt. a cellulose derivative, e.g. nitrocellulose, acetylcellulose, acetylbutylcellulose, methyl cellulose or benzyl cellulose. The composition in the form of a solution in a solvent as an aerosol is applied by brushing etc. or held by a sheet base material, e.g. wood, in the form of a dried film and hung in furniture or laid in the interior of a drawer etc.
