Abstract
PURPOSE: Titled composition which has a long pot life and is easily cured by heating, prepared by mixing a polyfunctional epoxy compound, a polyfunctional isocyanate compound and a specified curing catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: As the curing catalyst, use is made of a dimethylurea derivative represented by the formula, wherein R1 and R2 are each H, Cl, nitro, methoxy or a monovalent hydrocarbon group, such as 3-phenyl-1, 1-dimethylurea. The thermosetting resin composition is prepared by adding about 0.05W5%, based on the composition below, of said catalyst to a composition containing 1 eq. of a polyfunctional epoxy compound such as diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A and about 1.5 eq. of a polyfunctional isocyanate such as methane diisocyanate.
