Abstract

PURPOSE:To mix by stirring base material under vacuum cooling or heating by a method wherein a mixer has a double pipe used as the shaft to rotate the pan, and a cooling or heating medium is passed through the double pipe and is circulated and returned through a hollow chamber. CONSTITUTION:A vacuum mixer has a pan 1 consisting of an arch shaped annular recess having a protruded section 2 at the center area, an enclosed hollow chamber 3 underneath the pan 3, and a double pipe 8 extending from the center bottom of the chamber 3. To mix material in the pan while heating or cooling it, a heating or cooling medium is fed through a supply pipe 12, inner pipe 9 into the hollow chamber 3, and returned through return pipe 11 and external pipe 10, so that the medium is circulated.
