Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a reflector which is excellent in impact resistance, heat resistance, and chemical resistance by making up the vitreous film of a mirror surface of a Na2O-rich undercoat with a specific composition containing SiO2, P2O5, B2O3, etc., and a Li2O-rich finish coat.
CONSTITUTION: On the mirror surface of a base material of aluminum or iron, a vitreous film, consisting of an undercoat with a composition containing 52W97mol% SiO2, 1W23mol% one or more of P2O5, B2O3, and Al2O3, and 2W25mol% Na2O and a finish coat with a composition containing 52.5W92mol% SiO2, 1W23mol% one or more of P2O5, B2O3, and Al2O3, 5W22mol% Li2O, and 0W2.5mol% Na2O, is formed. Also, the content of one or more oxides of P2O5, B2O3, and Al2O3 in at least one of both the undercoat and the finish coat is set up to 1W6mol%. The formation of the vitreous film on the base material is made by sputtering and then buffing, chemical polishing, or electrolytic polishing is applied to form a mirror surface.
