Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent staining of transfer paper by providing at least one idler opposing to a guide roller by way of a transfer electrode in-between, an endless belt put on between this idler and the guide roller and a cleaning member for cleaning the belt positioned in the travel path of said belt.
CONSTITUTION: A stationary belt 15 which is fixed at one end to a stay is positioned in the end part of a photosensitive drum 2 and its intermediate part is held in sliding contact with the peripheral surface position of the photosensitive drum 2 opposing to a transfer electrode 16. Two idlers 24, 25 opposing to a guide roller 17 by way of the transfer electrode 16 in-between are provided and an endless movable belt 26 is put on between the idlers 24, 25 and the guide roller 17 and is put in the position aligned to the stationary belt. This movable belt makes sliding contact with the stationary belt at the same speed as that of the photosensitive drum. A cleaning brush 28 with which the movable belt 26 makes sliding contact is provided to the support plate 27 behind the electrode plate 16b to prevent the stationary belt 15 from being stained by the toner. Hence, the staining of transfer paper may be prevented.
