NEW MATERIAL:1-(3-Mercapto-2-methylporpanoyl)proline ester derivatives of formula I [R1 is alkanoyl, benzoyl, phenylalkanoyl; R2 is formula II, III or IV (R3 is H, alkyl; R4 is H, alkyl, aryl; R6 is ethylene, 1,2-phenylene)].
EXAMPLE: 1-( D-3-Acetylthio -2- methylpropanoyl )-L-proline ( 2, 2-dimethyl-1-oxopropoxy)methyl ester.
USE: Antihypertensive: they have antihypertensive activity originating from inhibition of enzymes transforming angiotencin I, and keep the activity for a long period of time with high safety. They exists as stereoisomers.
PREPARATION: A compound of formula V is esterified.
