Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A 1,8-naphthyridine derivative of formulaI(R1 is group of formula II or formula III; R4 is H or amino-protecting group, R5 is H or lower alkyl; R2 is lower alkyl; R3 is H or lower alkyl) and its salt.
EXAMPLE: 7-(4-Acetyl-1-piperazinyl)-1-ethyl-6-fluoro-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-4-oxo-1,8- naphthyl-ridine-3-carboxylic acid ethyl ester.
USE: Intermediate for the preparation of antimicrobial agent.
PROCESS: The compond of formulaIis prepared by cyclizing the pyridine derivative of formula IV (R6 is lower alkyl) in the presence of a base such as sodium metal, in a solvent such as benzene, at 15W180°C. The starting raw material of formula IV is also a novel compound, and is obtained from known 3-fluro-2,6- dihydropyridine-5-carboxylic acid amide.
