Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain easy control of speed changes in a transmission and improve its controllability, by coupling three-shaft gear trains interposed between an input drive shaft and elemets of planetary gears.
CONSTITUTION: A gear train 40 interposed between an input drive shaft 10 and the first element of planetary gears 30 is formed into two sets of three-shaft gear trains variable speed changeable into two stages in forward and reverse rotations, and through each of the three-shaft gear trains 40 the power is selectively transmitted from the input drive shaft 10 to the first element of the planetary gears 30. In this way, fully within a prescribed range of the rotational speed ratio, the variable speed ratio in a forward or reverse rotation can be continuously changed to improve the variable speed conrol of a transmission and its drivability.
