Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a pressure-sensitive addhesive with improved sticking property, by incorporating a resin for imparting a special stickiness with a block copolymer of styrene with butadiene or isoprene.
CONSTITUTION: An adhesive consists of (A) a block copolymer having a formula A-B-A (wherein A is a styrene polymer block; B is a butadiene or isoprene polymer block) or a hydrogenated substance thereof, (B) a stickiness imparting resin shown by the formula I and/or II (wherein R1 is tri-or tetrahydric 3W6C alichol residue, n is 1W4) and (C) a softening agent. The compound of aforementioned formula I or II is obtained by a method wherein, for example, a compound shown by the formula III or IV (wherein R is H, monohydric 1W12C alcohol residue) is subjected to the hydrogenation by using a metal such as nickel or platinum or an oxide thereof as a catalyst to selectively hydrogenate an aromatic nucleus and then heating along with a tri- or tetrahydric 3W6C alcohol.
