Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the polyester film with less uneven thickness at high speed by a method in which polyethylene terephthalate is melted and extruded into a film, stretched at a specific temperature while controlling its orientation and crystallization, and then biaxially stretched.
CONSTITUTION: A polyester resin composed mainly of polyethylene terephthalate is melted and extruded through a linear die 1 into the resin film 2 which is, in turn, closely contacted with the cooling roll 3 rotating at a fixed speed to cool it to 95°C or lower, preferably 60W95°C. Then, the film is sent to a heating roll 4 with a nonadhesive surface to raise its temperature to 120W150°C, stretched 1W1.2 times longitudinally while suppressing its orientation and crystallization, and then biaxially stretched.
