Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent decreasing of an output by a method wherein a bypass passageway bypassing an exhaust turbine is provided in an exhaust system and a part of exhaust gas is bypassed the exhaust turbine upon a light load low speed operational area, speed reduction and an over supercharing operation exceeding a critical revolution of an engine.
CONSTITUTION: During an operation of an engine, exhaust gas discharged into an exhaust passageway 14 rotates an exhaust turbine 5 and a blower compressor 6 directly coupled to the turbine 5. Thereby, suction air from an air cleaner 10 is compressed and is supplied to the engine through a passagway 8. In this case, when a throttle valve 11 becomes to be in a substantially fully closed condition, a relatively high suction gegative pressure acts on a chamber 29 of a pressure changing valve 25 through a passageway 28 and both of valve bodies 31, 32 are shifted to the left against a spring 39. Consequently, a chamber 21 of a driving mechanism 19 is communicated with open air and a chamber 20 thereof is communicated with a pressure port 24, thereby, a valve body 17 is opened and a part of the exhaust gas is discharged through a bypass passageway 15. When a supercharging pressure becomes abnormaly high, the valve body 17 is opened in a same manner and an over supercharging may be prevented.
