Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify the structure and detect a substance fitted to a rotary body rapidly and accurately by controlling and determining a photoreception detection signal corresponding to a basic gate signal in the prescribed width.
CONSTITUTION: A panel 37 and the like fitted to a rotary body 34 by means of a jig 25 and prepared for coating is detected optically by a detection controller 41 through the intermediary of a phototransmitter and photoreceiver 38 and 39 and added to a controlling device 42. Accordingly, based on the number of clock pulses by a substance detection counter 51 corresponding to the width of the jig 35 in the case when the panel 37 is absent and on the counted value showing the same number in the counter 48 in the case when the panel 37 is present, and with a simple constitution for which a timing generating system in not necessary, the presence of the substance is detected rapidly and accurately, without making the device rotate once with the rotary body 34.
