Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve measurement precision and response by using an oxygen-permeant film provided with finely porous transition metal at a detected-liquid contact side.
CONSTITUTION: Holed cap 8 is screwed around cylindrical holder 2 that contains oxygen-concentration detection mechanism 4 consisting of oxygen reducing pole 9 and opposite pole 10 and electrolyte 3 and has its opening part hermetically sealed with oxygen permeant film 6 provided with ozone dissolvent layer 7 made of finely porous transition metal via O ring 5, such as titanium, vanadium and chrominum, at the detected-liquid contact side, thereby forming ozone electrode 1. Consequently, ozone electrode 1 is dipped in the detected liquid and dissolved oxygen and dissolved ozone in the detected liquid are permitted to peameate ozone dissolvent layer 7 and oxygen permeant film 6; and the dissolved oxygen and dissolved and generated oxygen are reduced by oxygen reducing pole 9 and the value of electric current generated at this time is read to find difference from the separately measured dissolved oxygen concentration of the detected liquid, so that ozone concentration of the detected liquid can be measured in a short time with precision.
