Abstract
PURPOSE: A blood platelet coagulation inhibitor that contains a specific phenyl ketone or its nonoxic salt as an active component, thus inhibiting and preventing the formation of thrombosis.
CONSTITUTION: The inhibitor contains a phenyl ketone of formula I [Z is formula II, III(R is H, lower alkyl, hydroxy lower alkyl, alkoxy lower alkyl)] or its nontoxic salt such as 3-benzoylpyridine. This has excellent activity of inhibiting blood platelet coagulation and is preferably orally or rectally administered to prevent or treat cardiovascular infarction, postoperative thrombosis, infarction by blood vessel thrombosis after surgical operation, and arteriosclerosis.
