Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure the detection of failures in a rotary rectifier by providing a frequency discriminating circuit which responds only when the frequency of the voltage induced in a magnetic flux detecting winding for detecting the abscissa component provided between the field coils of an AC exciter becomes the frequency that is specified times the frequency of the AC exciter. CONSTITUTION:A detecting winding 9 which detects the abscissa component of the magnetic flux is provided between the field poles 8 of the AC exciter. When one-element failure occurs in the rotary rectifier, the voltage, whose frequency is equal to the frequency f of the armature voltage of the AC exciter, is induced in the detecting winding 9. When an open circuit failure occurs in the rotary rectifier, the voltage whose frequency is 2Xf is induced. Active filters 19 and 29 pass only the frequency components of f and 2Xf, respectively, and the output is given to a relay circuit 38 via an OR circuit 36 and a level comparing circuit 37.
