Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a heat-sensitive recording material having a good response to heat and a smaller tendency of coloring under pressure by a method wherein stearamide and zinc stearate are additionally contained in a heat-sensitive layer comprising a leuco dye, phenolic compound and water-soluble binder as major constitutents. CONSTITUTION:A heat-sensitive recording material comprises a heat-sensitive layer in which stearamide and zinc stearate are contained in a weight ratio of 3:1-1:3, in addition to the major constitutents of the layer, i.e. a leuco dye, a phenolic compound (serving as developing agent) and a water-soluble binder. The heat-sensitive recording material is prepared by dispersing stearamide and zinc stearate in an aqueous solution containing casein, adding the dispersion to a heat-sensitive coating solution, and the resulting solution is applicated on a support and dried in situ by the usual method.
