Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a thermosensitive recording material capable of forming a highly concentrated and clear image even when recorded at a high speed, by a method wherein hexadecyl heptadecylate is incorporated with a thermosensitive coloring layer containing a developer and a color former made of a leuco dyestuff. CONSTITUTION:A colorless, or light-colored leuco dyestuff (a color former, e.g., crystal violet lactone), an organic acid or a phenolic material (a color developer, e.g., maleic acid, bisphenol A) to color said color former by heating and hexadecyl heptadecylate are dispersed in a resin binder solution and the obtained dispersion is coated and dried on a support to form a thermosensitive coloring layer for a thermosensitive recording material. Approximately 0.1-10pts.wt. of said hexadecyl heptadecylate is used for 1pt.wt. of the leuco dyestuff.
