Abstract
PURPOSE: To attain a perfect combustion of coal by a method wherein a height of an air tower portion of a furnace chamber near an exhaust gas outlet is made higher and coal sipplying hoppers are arranged at upper parts of respective furnace chambers respectively in a boiler in which an inner part of a fluidized bed furnace is divided into a plurality of furnace chambers with partition walls.
CONSTITUTION: Air is flowed into fluidized beds by a fan 14 through an air duct 15, dampers 16a, 16b, air boxes 13a, 13b and a perforated plate 12. The fluidized bed is divided by a partition plate 24 and supply of coal to respective furnace chambers 17, 18 is effected by respective hoppers 5, 6 to burn the coal. In this case, the coal flown up to an air tower portion in the furnace by exhaust gas, fluidizing air or the like is burnt at the air tower portion, however, the coal particles in the furnace chamber 18, of which furnace height is low, have a sufficient staying time until they arrive at an exhaust gas outlet 22 while the coal particles in the furnace chamber 17 have also a sufficient staying time since the furnace height thereof is made high, therefore, the coal particles are burnt perfectly. The hoppers 5, 6 are provided at the upper part of the furnance, therefore, coal within respective hoppers are preheated and dried effectively.
