Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve airtightness of a compressor valve and reduce noise, by forming a valve body and valve seat with soft material, both being connected with each other through tapered thin portions.
CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical valve seat 2, made of soft material such as rubber and soft synthetic resin, is fitted in a valve port 19 at a fitting groove 22. A cylindrical wall 20 is formed on a valve body 1 which is also made of soft material. Thin ends 21 of the circumferential wall 20 and valve seat 2 facing each other are tapered. The valve body 1 is formed solid with a valve body holder 24 through a junction 23 and fitted to a compressor casing by means of a screw 25. The said tapered ends 21 of the valve body 1 and valve seat 2 are flexible to make their contact airtight and also effective for reducing impact noise. The cylindrical formation of the valve components prevents them from getting out of shape despite their soft material.
