Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound, useful as an agent, and having an antifungal activity readily in high yield, by reacting a carbinol as a starting material with a tri-(1-imidazolyl)phosphine.
CONSTITUTION: A carbinol of formula I (Y is O, S, direct bond, CH2-CH2 or CH= CH; A is phenyl or pyridyl) is reacted with a tri(1-imidazolyl)phosphine in the presence of a solvent, preferably acetonitrile or chloroform, at room temperature or under heating to give the aimed compound of formula II (Imd is 1-imidazolyl group). The tri-(1-imidazolyl)-phosphine is used in a molar amount of 1/3 or more, perferably 2/3-2 times, that of the carbinol of formula I.
