Abstract
PURPOSE:To make unnecessary the addition of ROM for parity bit and to obtain an economical digital tone signal generator, by containing parity bits in 8-bit PCM code itself. CONSTITUTION:The signal ROM storing the sample of tone signal is addressed with a frame counter 1 clocked every sample period and the output is a serial PCM stream with a parallel serial converter 5. On the other hand, a selector 9 is controlled with the output of a counter 6 forming the intermittent signal of tone. The 1st input of this selector is the PCM stream and the 2nd input is the PCM pattern expressing the tone signal zero level. Of course, this pattern also satisfies the partity condition and the PCM stream of the tone signal with intermission is obtained from the output of the selector 9.
