Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the distortion of images at the time of cutting the rolled paper or the like by a method wherein a specified relationship is maintained between the feed restraining force of a feeding means on the side of feeding the rolled paper to a cutting means and the feeding force of a feeding means on the discharge side during when the former feeding means is at stoppage.
CONSTITUTION: The rolled-paper feeder for use in electronic photocopying machine or the like comprises the first feeding roller pair 3, the second feeding roller pair 6 and cutting means 9. The first feeding roller pair 3 consists of a driving roller 4 switching a driving force through a clutch means (not shown) and a driven roller 5 pressed against the roller 4 by a spring 21, with a brake belt 18 provided on the shaft of the roller 4. The brake belt 18 provides rolled paper 1 with a feed restraining force |F1|. The second feeding roller pair 6 similarly consists of a driving roller 7 and a driven roller 8, and provides a feeding force |F2|. In this case, each roller pair is so constructed as to satisfy the relationship |F1|≤|F2| during when the roller pair 3 is at stoppage.
