Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a burner capable of effecting combustion with low air by a method wherein a burner tile is designed so as to be a straight cylindrical narrow tile to restrain production of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and to improve properties of igniting and turn down.
CONSTITUTION: A burner tile is designed so as to be a narrow straight tile 16 forming a straight cylindrical configuration. Air whirling passageways 17, 18 are arranged above a straight cylinder for a tapered air nozzle 6, located immediately before a combustion air supplying passageway or a choked portion 3 of a burner main body 1, and within the narrow tile 16. Further, a fuel nozzle 13 and the tapered air nozzle 6 are inserted into the straight narrow tile 16 in a long length and tip ends of the respective nozzles 6, 13 to be located at a position to the distance 1/2 times of a diameter of the tile from an inner tip end, that means a forward end thereof and facing to an internal portion of a furnace, of the straight narrow tile 16. In addition, a sectional area of a clearance between the above described choked portion 3 and a tapered portion 7 of the tapered air nozzle 6 is to be constituted so as to satisfy a formula described in the drawing.
