Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A 2,2-dialkoxycyclohexylacetate expressed by formula I (R1 and R2 are lower alkyl).
EXAMPLE: Ethyl 2,2-diethoxycyclohexylacetate.
USE: A synthetic intermediate for a medicine, e.g. Diclofenac Sodium having pharamacological effects, e.g. an anti-inflammatory, an analgesic and an antipyretic effects.
PROCESS: A cyclohexanone-2-acetate expressed by formula II is reacted with an orthoformic ester expressed by the formula HC(OR2)3 in a molar amount of 1W2 times that of the cyclohexanone-2-acetate, preferably in a little excess, preferably in the presence of an cid catalyst, at a temperature in the range of 0°C to the boiling point of the orthoformic ester, to give a compound of formula I.
