Abstract

PURPOSE: To always maintain good sealing performance of a sealing device further improve its durability, by clearing the region, in which a sealing member makes contact with a shaft member, from the portion susceptible of causing wear or damage through sliding contact with shaft bearing parts.
CONSTITUTION: In the inner circumferential face of a bearing part 11 where sliding motion is operated with a shaft member 12, an annular relief groove 13 having the prescribed depth is formed, and in the central part of the relief groove 13 an annular groove 15 for holding a sealing member 14 is formed.
