Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the smoothness, antiwearing properties and the durability of still reproduction for a magnetic recording medium and at the same time remove the cylinder soil or the like, by adding the compound of the specific fatty acid compound and the specific aliphatic alkylphosphate into a magnetic layer.
CONSTITUTION: The compound of one or more kinds the saturated and unsaturated fatty acids of C12W24 such as a lauryl acid, myristic acid or the like plus one or more kinds among the aliphatic alkylphosphate compounds such as the tri(tetradecyl) phosphate shown in the formula (R1, R2 and R3 are aliphatic alkyl group of C12W26) are added into the magnetic layer of a magnetic recording medium such as a magnetic tape or the like by about 1W15pts.wt. to the 100pts.wt. magnetic substance. The ratio of mixing is set to about 1:9W9:1 in terms of weight between the above two compounds. Such compounds are coated on the magnetic layer, and the smoothing process is applied on the surface of the magnetic layer. Thus a smooth magnetic recording medium is obtained with an excellent hardwearing properties.
