Abstract
PURPOSE:To greatly save the energy consumption, by utilizing the heat by the plastic working of the cold rolling pass, effectively to the annealing process. CONSTITUTION:The steel sheet 10 is rolled by the cold rolling mill 1 and is introduced into the continuous annealing furnace 6 of the continuous annealing plant 2 through the bridle roll 3 and the strand looper 4. Hereupon ,the pass line, ranging from the rolling mill 1 mainly comprising the roll 3 and the looper 4 to the entrance of the furnace 6, is surrounded by the heat insulating wall 11. Accordingly, the heat by the plastic working of the rolling mill 1 is effectively utilized as a part of heat supply to the heating zone of the following furnace 6. Besides, in the rolling mill 1, the coolant is permitted to cool only the rolling roll, and the amount of sprayed lubricant is reduced to an extent impossible to cool the steel sheet 10.
