Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the treatment of contaminated water while preventing pollutions caused by dusts, by adding incineration ashes, collected dusts and a binder to contaminated water discharged from an incieneration plant, and briquetting the mixture.
CONSTITUTION: Contaminated water 2 and incineration ashes 3 from an incineration plant 1 are treated together with collected dusts 4 from an electric dust collector or the like. The contaminated water 2 is neutralized by a neutralizer 5, if necessary. The neutralized water 6 is charged together with incineration ashes 3 and collected dusts 4 into a mixer 7, and blended there. When the amount of the contaminated water is not sufficient, pure water 8 may be added to the mixture. A binder, e.g., cement, is then added to the mixture in a binder mixing chamber 9. After the mixture is briquetted to a proper size, the mixture is aged and solidified in an aging device 10. The treated mixture is extracted as solids 11. Thus, contaminated water containing nutritive values can be treated, while the scattering of incineration ashes and collected dusts can be also prevented.
