Abstract

PURPOSE: A base material for mosquito-repellent incense that contains a powder of dried leaf of a kind of Albizzia named "gin-nemu" in Japanese, which literally mean silver silk tree, thus being clearly dyed with pale colors, evolving no irritant and strange odor when fumigated, having good moldability and giving incense with dense and smooth surfaces.
CONSTITUTION: A dried powder of leaves of a kind of Albizzia is added to give the objective base material for mosquito-repellent incense. This tree is called "gin-nemu" in Japanese and grows in Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia. The dried powder and pellets are imported into Japan as a feed for domestic animals. By employing said powder or tablets as a base material, the amount of flakes of Dalmatian pyrethrum after extraction of pyrethrin is reduced. The use of the dried powder of "gin-nemu" as a base material gives high-quality mosquito-repellent incense.
