Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten manhole installing terms, by prefabricating the entire structure of manhole including the lower structure of manhole such that sewer connecting pipes can be connected to the manhole with the same gradient angle as that of existing pipes when a prefabricated manhole is used.
CONSTITUTION: Hole 22 having a diameter larger than the outer diameter of connecting pipe 3 for connecting underground pipe 1 is formed in side wall 21 of manhole. Pipe holder 4 is fitted on connecting pipe 3 by the intermediary of packing 5 in the manner that it can be tilted freely, and the top of pipe 3 is inserted into said hole 22 formed in side wall 21 constituting a lower structural member 2 of manhole. Then, the pipe 3 is drawn back to connect the rear end to existing underground pipe 1, whereafter pipe holder 4 is shifted on pipe 3 to the position of hole 22 and positioned correctly to the lower structural member of manhole. Thereafter, pipe holder 4 is bonded to the outer surface of side wall 21 by use of adhesive.
