Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the reduced flow rate of a pump from rising again due to the increase in load pressure, by providing a flow control spool valve with a variable orifice based on a control rod.
CONSTITUTION: Pressurized oil from a pump is entered through a supply passage 15 and divided to a send-out port 12 and a bypass 16. When the flow rate of the pump is low, all the pressurized oil is supplied from the send-out port 12 to a power steering gear because the bypass 16 is shut off by a spool valve 17. When the flow rate increases, the spool valve 17 is moved to open the bypass 16 to set the pressure on the front and rear ends of a throttle passage 28 and an auxiliary throttle passage 35 at prescribed levels. For that reason, the flow rate from the send-out port 12 is reduced. When load pressure becomes high, the spool valve 17 is not displaced and does not shut off the bypass 16 because a control rod 27 is moved against a spring 30. For that reason, the flow rate from the send-out port 12 is not changed.
