Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve an output of a diesel engine at a low speed by completely shutting off an intake throttle valve of the engine under an idle and light load conditions as well as connecting both upper and lower sides of the valve by a bypass provided with a port of reflux passage of exhaust.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel injection pump 2 of an engine 1 is put in operation by an accelerator pedal 3 and a wire 5 is connected with a throttle valve 9 of an air inlet passage 6 to make the valve shut completely under an idle and light load conditions while open widely under a medium and heavy load conditions. A bypass 25 is formed, made connecting upstream passage 23 to downstream passage 24 when the valve 9 is completely shut. Further, exhaust gas with its exhaust pulse attenuated by an enlarged room 31 is brought into the bypass 25 through an exhaust gas reflux passage 26. When the throttle valve is completely shut down under a light load condition or the like, air and exhaust gas are also introduced through the bypass 25.
