Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a china-painting and decorating composition of gold or silver gloss at low cost, by coating the surface of ceramic ware with a paint composition, applying a noble metal composition to the layer, followed by calcining the two layers simultaneously at high temperature.
CONSTITUTION: A paint composition comprising 0.01W70wt% pigment for ceramic ware and coloring metal oxide and 30W99.99wt% glass composition is printed on the surface of ceramic ware, and gold or silver coloring composition is printed on the surface to give transfer paper. The gold coloring composition consists of 50W90wt% Au powder, less than 4wt% Rh powder, less than 1wt% Ag powder, less than 3wt% Pb powder, less than 3wt% Pt powder, and 5W45wt% inorganic finely divided powder. The silver coloring compound consists of 40W85wt% Au powder, 2W 15wt% Pd powder, less than 5wt% Rh powder, less than 5wt% Ag powder, less than 4wt% Cr2O3 powder, and 5W40wt% inorganic finely divided powder. The prepared transfer paper is applied to the surface of ceramin ware and calcined at 1,000W1,350°C.
