CONSTITUTION: A substance having mitogen activities is extracted from Chinese herbal remedies, e.g., Cvodiae Fructus, Bupleurum root, Lithospermit Radix, plantain seed, Gastrodiae Tuber, Benincasae Semen, Angelica Dahuricae Radix, Sinomenium acutum Rehder et Wilson root, Atractylodis Rhizoma, Atractylodes, Ginseng, Astragali Radix, Angelica glabra Makino, root of Sophora angustifolia Sieb. et Zucc., white mulberry root bark, etc. The extract is recovered to give a mitogen active substance. It is obtained as an unstable white powder. The mitogen active substance is one of the substances to be expected to increase immunological competence nonspecifically by acting on cells of lymph corpuscle of human beings and animals.
