Abstract

PURPOSE: To maintain charging quantity at the transferring constant irrespective of the resistance value of a transfer paper by electrically insulating a member in contact with the transfer paper in a transfer region from the body of a copying machine.
CONSTITUTION: The transfer paper fed goes through a pair of upper and lower guide plates 13, 14 and 21, 22 successively and is so fed as to make close contact with the photosensitive layer of a photosensitive drum 2 opposing to a corona discharger 6 for transfer. The transfer copying paper after the end of transfer is stripped from the photosensitive layer by stripping claws 23, is grasped by stripping rollers 24, 25, is sent to a fixing device by an endless conveying belt 26 and is fixed. The respective members contacting the copy paper from the upper, lower guide plates 17, 18 where the copy paper exists up to the left end part of the figure are electrically insulated from the machine body 1 in order to prevent the charge on the copy paper from escaping when at least part of the copy paper is in the transfer region 27 between the photosensitive drum 2 and the corona discharger 6 for transfer and while the charge for transfer is being applied.
