Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled copolymer having improved resistance to impact whitening and improved impact strength, by multi-stage block copolymerization of a propylene-ethylene copolymer to a polypropylene main chain.
CONSTITUTION: Propylene is polymerized in liquid propylene to produce a propylene polymer A having a melt flow index of 1W100g/10min and a propylene content of ≥95% in an amount of 60W95wt%, and then the copolymerization of propylene and ethylene is carried out in two steps. By properly controlling the feeding amount of H2 in each step, two kinds of propylene-ethylene copolymers H and L (H+L=B) (having high and low molecular weight, respectively) are produced in an amount of 5W40wt%. The melt flow indices of the polymers satisfy the formulaI(MFI is melt flow index; A+B represents the whole polymer) and formula II. The propylene concentration in vapor phase is 40W 90mol% of propylene + ethylene, and the ethylene content of the whole polymer is 2W30wt%.
