Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable metallizing having improved adhesivity and to obtain a metallized produce having improved gloss, by etching a molded article of a polyamide resin with an aqueous solution of an acid first, followed by etching it with an aqueous solution of stannic chloride second.
CONSTITUTION: A molded article of a polyamide resin is deffated with an organic solvent, e.g., acetone, etc., etched first with an aqueous solution of an acid, washed with water, and etched second with an aqueous solution of stannic chloride or a mixed aqueous solution of stannic chloride and an acid. The concentration of the aqueous solution of stannic chloride is 5W50wt%, preferably 5W30wt%, hydrochloric acid or acetic acid is preferable as the acid used in the first and second etching, and its concentration is ≤50wt%, preferably 3W15wt%. The liquid temperature of etching is 20W70°C, a long-time immersion is prevented, after the second ethching, the molded article is washed with water, immersed in caustic said, etc., so that remaining stannic chloride is preferably removed.
