Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a rolling mill which can control the shape of a rolled material in good efficiency without requiring roll exchanging by constituting at least one of rolls in a dissimilar peripheral speed rolling mill of a variable crown.roll.
CONSTITUTION: In the roll constitution of the dssimilar peripheral speed rolling mill or winding dissimilar peripheral speed rolling mill shown in the figure, at least one of either upper or lower roll is constituted of a variable crown.roll (VC roll). In some cases, two kinds of VC rolls which can provide mutually different crown shapes like a VC roll for broad width and a VC roll for narrow width are combined above and below to constitute the rolling part. As a result, with the VC roll, the same result as that when adequate initial.crown is given in conformity with the rolled material is obtained and therefore the proper shape controlling is accomplished.
