Abstract

PURPOSE: To carry out an operation at a constantly high efficiency using a settled sand raking-up device at low production cost by a method wherein a tail sprocket wheel and a head sprocket wheel both provided in water can be simultaneously moved vertically and their positions are suitably changed in accordance with the amount of settled sand.
CONSTITUTION: A head lever 5 and a tail lever 10 are fixed to shafts 3, 12 rotatably supported by fixed bearings, and the sprocket wheels 6, 9 are rotatably supported at outside ends of the levers 5, 10. Operating levers 7, 11 are fixed to the shafts 3, 12 at appropriate angles, and a rod 8 is oscillatably connected to the operating levers 7, 11. The operating lever 11 at a tail part is fitted with a lifting device 13, and the sprockets 6, 9, 19, 20 are so located as to constitute the vertexes of a parallelogram and drive a chain 21 equipped with buckets 22. When the amount of sand settled at a sand reservoir 1 is increased, the operating lever 11 at the tail part is rotated by operating the lifting device 13, and the operating lever 7 at a head part is rotated to the inlet side through a rod 8. Accordingly, the sprockets 6, 9 are moved upwards and the amount of the sand raked up by the bucket 22 is adjusted, thereby preventing an overload.
