Abstract

PURPOSE: To decrease the number of signal lines to a lamp matrix by inputting information from a status information register to the side X of the lamp matrix through a common bus under DMA control, and by driving the side Y dynamically.
CONSTITUTION: Display information on a status lamp display panel 16 is stored in a status information register 14 while updated successively. A card 15 for controlling the panel 16 is provided and when an update counter 31 for the card 15 is driven a register address transmission part 32 is operated by its output to send the addresses of the register 14 successively. Those addresses have access to the register 14 under the control of a DMA control circuit 20 by using a common bus 12 exclusively. Status information from the register 14 is stored in an RAM23 to be converter into 16-bit lamp information and the column line 19-X of the panel 16 is driven through a buffer 34 synchronizing with the output of the counter 31. Simultaneously, the row line 19-Y of the panel is driven dynamically through a lamp driver 35 by the output of the counter 31 to turn on a corresponding lamp.
