CONSTITUTION:The medium conveyance path 1 of a medium processor is provided with a shutter 2 which partitions off the inside and outside of the prcessor, and in the processor, a couple of rollers 4-1, 4-2 conveying a medium 7 and a medium sensor 5 are provided. Further, a medium insertion sensor 6 and a receiving dish 3 are provided outside of a discharging device, and a magnet driving the shutter 2 is driven, synchronizing with the discharging operation of the medium 7, by a controller provided to the discharging device, thereby opening the shutter 2. When the sensor 6 detects the front end of the medium 7, the shutter 2 is closed, and the medium 7 is sandwiched movably by the shutter. At the lower end of the shutter 2, a feed idle roller or an arc-shaped member with a small coefficient of friction is provided to facilitate control over the stop of the medium, improving operability.
