Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce an alloy sheet having on fluctuations in thickness owing to temp. changes in a large amt. continuously by providing a cooling water passage in which high velocity water flow is flowed along the inside circumferential surface of a cooling body which is revolving at a high speed. CONSTITUTION:An inner roll 5 is disposed in a cooling body 1' which is revolving at a high speed, and a cooling water passage 6 is formed between the outside surface of an inner roll 5 and the inside circumferential surface of the body 1'. A connecting water passage 7 is provided between the passage 6 and a hollow shaft 2' to flow and discharge the cooling water of high pressure into and from the passage 6, whereby heat exchanging is accomplished with good efficiency. Hence, even if the molten alloy ejected continuously through a nozzle 4 is brought into contact with the surface of the body 1' which is revolving at a high speed, the surface temp. of the body 1' is maintained always constant and therefore the mass production of the alloy sheets of a constant shape and superior quality on an industrial scale is made possible.
