Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform the calibration of the measuring system including the radiation detector only by the electric signal without using radiation by providing a thermion emitting body in an ionized gas in the radiation detector utilizing the ionizing action of radiation and taking out the constant electric signal to the outside of the radiation detector. CONSTITUTION:The radiation detector 11 utilizing the ionization such as an ionization chamber incorporates a thermion emitting body 12 wherein W and the like are used in the ionized gas. A constant current circuit 13 is connected to said thermion emitting body 12. The thermion is emitted by flowing a constant current. The ionization current having constant strength is taken out of a positive electrode 14 by the electric field applied to the radio detector 11, and the calibration of the entire measuring system including the radiation detector 11 can be performed by the electric signal. Instead of said thermion emitting body 11, the same calibration can be performed by emitting light from a light emitting device 17 by utilizing a photoelectron generator 18 and using the photoelectron generated in said photoelectric generator 18.
